Founded in 2004, the Texas Collegiate League (TCL) is a collegiate summer wood-bat baseball league headquartered in Coppell, Texas, with teams across Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. It features 7 teams for the 2025 season (expanding to 8 in 2026 with the Sherman Shadowcats), drawing NCAA-eligible players in a minor league-style atmosphere. The season includes 48 regular-season games from early June (June 3 in 2025) to late July, followed by playoffs culminating in a championship. The league emphasizes player development, MLB scouting, and community engagement, using wooden bats and major league specification baseballs. It has produced numerous pro alumni and operates as a for-profit entity under President Uri Geva and Commissioner John Wilson, with a focus on affordable, family-friendly entertainment.
