Founded in 2007, the Sunbelt Baseball League (SBL) is a non-profit collegiate summer wooden-bat league with teams in metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia, and Oxford, Alabama, funded in part by Major League Baseball. It features 8 teams, emphasizing player development for NCAA-eligible college athletes, MLB scouting, and community engagement. The season runs approximately 40 games from early June to late July, followed by playoffs, with the Atlanta Crackers winning the 2025 championship. The SBL operates as a 501(c)(3) organization, promoting sportsmanship and regional talent in a competitive environment.
