Overview
Founded in 1987, the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League (GLSCL) is a non-profit amateur wood-bat summer collegiate league promoting baseball for student-athletes in Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. It features 8 teams divided into North and South divisions, providing opportunities to improve skills, earn scholarships, or pursue pro careers while minimizing overuse injuries through a balanced schedule. The league conducts youth clinics, encourages sportsmanship, and operates under 501(c)(3) status. The 42-game season runs from early June to late July with a mandatory weekly day off (usually Monday), including crossover series and playoffs. It includes graduated high school seniors signed to Division I programs (limited spots) and emphasizes ethical standards and community involvement.
